Design Atlanta Lecture | Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi present "Drifting Symmetries"

The Design Atlanta lecture, in collaboration with the Museum of Design, Atlanta (MODA), brings us Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi of WEISS/MANFREDI. Their lecture, Drifting Symmetries, is centered around current projects that are at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and urbanism.

WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism was founded in 1989 by Marion Weiss, FAIA and Michael A. Manfredi, FAIA. Weiss received her Master of Architecture at Yale University. She is a tenured professor at the University of Pennsylvania where she is currently the Graham Chair Professor of Architecture. In 2017, she was the recipient of Architectural Record’s Women in Architecture Design Leader Award. Manfredi received his Master of Architecture at Cornell University. He is a Senior Design Critic at Harvard University, a founding board member of the Van Alen Institute, and a board member for the Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York City. Both partners have also taught design studios at Yale University as the Eero Saarinen Visiting Professors, and at Cornell University and Yale University.

Both Weiss and Manfredi have received numerous awards including the Tau Sigma Delta Gold Medal, the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Architecture, the Architectural League of New York’s Emerging Voices Award, and the New York AIA Gold Medal. In 2014 they were inducted into the National Academy of Design. Three monographs on the work of Weiss/Manfredi have been published by Princeton Architectural Press: WEISS/MANFREDI: Surface/Subsurface, Site Specific: The Work of WEISS/MANFREDI Architects, and Public Natures: Evolutionary Infrastructures.
